MANDALAS in World Religions

The geometric symbolism of the circle & square in conjunction is one of the oldest symbols of the primal relationship between the finite & the infinite. The best-known examples are from the visual traditions of Hinduism & Buddhism. However, this symbol also has had a central position in the sacred art of Taoism, Islam, & Christianity, as well as in the tribal traditions from which developed all the world religions of today.
